087-Implementing New Learning

In recent weeks we attended two important conferences where we learned an overwhelming amount of information that we can apply in our business here at Five Feline Farm. We are excited about our opportunities and the growth of this business.

Plus, at the Illinois State Master Gardener Conference, Donna was awarded an Outstanding Master Gardener. Congratulations!

Mark your calendars on October 12, 2019 for Farm Fest. This is the season opening for our onsite Mercantile. We’ve invited some others to join us, including Doty and Dexter who will play music in the crib from 11:00-2:00. The Mercantile will be open from 9:00 – 3:00.

Scones and mini-pies will be available by pre-order.

Don’t miss it.

Until next time….

086-Interview At Miss Effie’s

This week’s podcast is a real treat. We had the opportunity to visit with Cathy and Cliff Lafrenz at Miss Effie’s Fresh Flowers and Garden Stuff in Donahue, IA. They are role models for us in what we do here on our farm, plus they are just fun people.

We recorded this podcast outdoors in their corn crib. You will hear cicadas and other nature sounds in the background.

And if you are ever in Donahue, IA, make a trip out to Miss Effie’s. Actually, it is worth a special trip, just 15 minutes or so from the Quad Cities.

Be sure to check out Miss Effie’s on the web, Facebook, and Twitter.

Mark your calendars for Farm Fest at the Mercantile on Five Feline Farm. October 12, 2019 from 9:00 – 3:00.

Stay tuned, it’s going to get interesting….

084-Let It Go

Today’s episode is a thoughtful examination of some of our own vulnerabilities and how we react to negative comments.

Building a business that exposes us to the public opens up the possibility of criticism. Hearing constructive criticism is one thing, but there are times that we receive less than gracious comments. Those are hard to manage, but we are learning to stay true to our vision.

As we talk about these things, we try to focus on the overwhelming number of positive support we receive.

Until next time….
