Make Your Own Scones From a Five Feline Farm Exclusive Mix
You will need:
4 Tblsp cold butter
1/2 cup water, divided
Preheat oven to 450º and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Remove packet of mix-in ingredients. Pour dry ingredients into mixing bowl. Using a pastry blender, two forks, or your fingertips, cut the butter into the dry ingredients until butter pieces are the size of small peas.
Crack egg into a measuring cup and add enough water to reach the 1/2 cup mark. Stir with a fork until well blended.
Stir wet ingredients into dry, mixing until combined. Add additional water by tablespoons if needed. Do not over mix. Dough should clean the sides of the bowl and hold together.
Turn dough onto a lightly floured cutting board. Pat dough into a ball and flatten into a circle that is 1 inch thick.
Cut into 8 wedges and place 2” apart on prepared baking sheet.
Bake for approximately 12 – 15 minutes until lightly browned.
Cool on wire rack.
