Once again, many new people visited the Mercantile this past weekend. We continue to be amazed at the popularity of our small business. Thank you to everyone who follows us on social media, email and through our website.

The Farm is preparing for our summer delivery route. At this time, all of the Gert’s Garden 2 Go© bags are sold, but we are starting a waiting list for any extras that may become available. If you are interested, send us an email or text. Details are in the photo below.

Listen all the way to the end for a gardening tip and kitchen tip for the week.

174-Karaoke in the Crib Was a Blast!

This week’s episode reviews our most recent weekend at the Farm which featured Karaoke on Saturday afternoon. It was a wonderful time with Kwiksilver Karaoke.

Several people visited the Farm for the first time and many others were return visitors. We appreciate each and every one.

In the episode, we mentioned meeting Rooney’s previous foster mother and a story about Rooney’s adoption day. Here’s the link to the story on Medium:

173-Frost on Mother’s Day?

Hello again from Five Feline Farm!

We were reminded this week that it is not quite summer here in Central Illinois. There are days with warm temperatures and gentle rains. Then there are days with storms and cold.

This Mother’s Day was one of those cold rainy days. In fact, we had a frost advisory! That means we covered all of the tomato plants with trash bags to make sure we do not lose any to the cold. It is not the first time we have covered plants on Mother’s Day.

Looking ahead, we have Kwiksilver Karaoke coming to the Farm on May 15, 2021. They will provide entertainment from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Bring a lawn chair and a friend to enjoy some time in the country.

Until next time,

Donna, Julia and the Felines

P.S. Keep up with all the activities through our email, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

172-A Boardwalk at the Farm

Hello again!

Yes, we now have a boardwalk at the farm. On the south side of our Mercantile building, there was a bit of a problem area, so we fixed it by installing a boardwalk. Plus four new planting boxes.

Even though there are a few details left to complete, it is functional and we are happy with the results.

For Mother’s Day weekend, we are offering chocolate themed scones. Head over to the Mercantile to get your order in by Wednesday evening for pick up on Friday or Saturday.

Don’t forget May 15, 2021 is Karaoke in the Crib. Bring a lawn chair and a friend, tune up your singing voice and enjoy an afternoon in the country. Open from Noon – 4:00PM

Until next time,

Donna, Julia and the Felines

P.S. Be sure you are on our email list or follow social media for updates. (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
