115-Interview At Miss Effie’s Replay

Today’s bonus episode is a replay of our September 5, 2019 interview with Cathy and Cliff Lafrenz at Miss Effie’s Country Flowers and Garden Stuff.

When we met Cliff (who goes by Honey most of the time) and Cathy on our first visit to Miss Effie’s we all became instant friends. They are just those kind of people. Welcoming and endearing.

Over the past several months, Cliff has been experiencing serious health issues. Please join us in prayer and support for this wonderful couple.

Until next time…

114-Learn To Pivot

As of 5:00 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2020, Five Feline Farm along with millions of Illinoisans are under a shelter in place order.

At the last minute, the evening before, we decided to arrange an on farm pickup system so we could provide some of our products one last time before the order went into effect.

So we scrambled and improvised and came up with a way that worked!

Thank you to everyone who ordered then came to pick up. We will all get through this together.

Stay safe, be well and please enjoy this podcast describing how we managed this business pivot.

Until next time…..

P.S. We have extended the coupon MARCH20 until April 15, 2020. Enter this code at checkout in the online Mercantile and get free shipping on purchases over $10.00.

112-Our Response To The Coronavirus Crisis

We are a small business, but have decided that we can do our part to help break the cycle of transmission. In that effort, we have decided not to open on March 21 as originally scheduled.

Our online Mercantile is always open and we are offering free shipping on orders over $10.00. The code is MARCH20. Already orders are arriving and we appreciate your support during these uncertain times.

In this episode we share more about our response, our rationale about closing and our plans to fill our days.

Be well.

111-Mercantile Season Is Here

We are enjoying the Spring weather and getting as much done as possible in between rains. In addition, we have opened the Mercantile for the first time this season.

Today’s episode is a review of the last week here on the Farm and how excited we are to keep moving forward.

Keep coming back…it’s going to get interesting.

*There is an issue with feedback on this episode, but rather than delay getting the post out, we minimized it as much as possible.
