176-Problem Solving on a Small Farm

Hello again from Five Feline Farm!

As the title of this episode suggests, we have discovered that living on and managing this small farm business requires good problem solving skills. Just this past week, we had a breach of some garden beds by varmints: both ground hogs and raccoons. We will tell you on this episode how we protected those areas.

Plus, you will hear our philosophy about living in harmony with wild animals. Donna even shares a funny story about one of her interactions with a snake.

The Mercantile will be open Friday and Saturday afternoons (12:00 PM – 4:00PM) with the exception of holiday weekends. You can place an order for pickup by visiting the online Mercantile.

We will begin our delivery route on June 12, 2021. If you live within a 15 mile radius of Five Feline Farm you can place an order and we will deliver to your door on Saturday mornings. We also have a waiting list for our Gert’s Garden 2 Go© bags, so let us know if you would like to be on that list.

Until next time,

Donna, Julia and the Felines

174-Karaoke in the Crib Was a Blast!

This week’s episode reviews our most recent weekend at the Farm which featured Karaoke on Saturday afternoon. It was a wonderful time with Kwiksilver Karaoke.

Several people visited the Farm for the first time and many others were return visitors. We appreciate each and every one.

In the episode, we mentioned meeting Rooney’s previous foster mother and a story about Rooney’s adoption day. Here’s the link to the story on Medium:

173-Frost on Mother’s Day?

Hello again from Five Feline Farm!

We were reminded this week that it is not quite summer here in Central Illinois. There are days with warm temperatures and gentle rains. Then there are days with storms and cold.

This Mother’s Day was one of those cold rainy days. In fact, we had a frost advisory! That means we covered all of the tomato plants with trash bags to make sure we do not lose any to the cold. It is not the first time we have covered plants on Mother’s Day.

Looking ahead, we have Kwiksilver Karaoke coming to the Farm on May 15, 2021. They will provide entertainment from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Bring a lawn chair and a friend to enjoy some time in the country.

Until next time,

Donna, Julia and the Felines

P.S. Keep up with all the activities through our email, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
